A Perfect Couple Synopsis:
Amy and Isaac have been together for 15 years. They have dated, taken breaks, broken up, seen other people, gotten back together, been long distance, short distance, lived together, bought a condo, sold the condo, made a profit. They are 39 years old, and finally getting married.
Isaac’s step-mother, Coral, has recently passed away, and the perfect couple has decided to move into Coral’s upstate home, while Amy plans their perfect wedding. In order to fully nest, Amy and Isaac are cleaning out Coral’s belongings, with the help of their 23 year old neighbor Josh, and Amy’s best friend Emma, who arrives for the weekend, ready to help with wedding plans, house cleaning, and spend quality time with her favorite friends...anything to distract her from yet another non- relationship with an unavailable man. After a long weekend of alarming discoveries, secrets are revealed and bonds are tested. Brooke Berman’s newest play raises pressing questions about loyalty, morality and marriage that ultimately ask, “what is a perfect couple?”
